Consultant/Specialist - Level IV
Level 4A:
Ideal for doctors, who have already completed their training, practicing in environments not dealing with emergency arrest situations on a regular basis, or wish to refresh current skills and knowledge. This class is designed to refresh the doctor’s understanding of arrest interventions and appropriate application of protocols. This particular level focuses on rapid assessment of the DRABCDE and appropriate interventions. Anatomy & physiology, pharmacology, and mechanisms of interventions are explored and discussed. The basics of team management are also introduced.
Skills: Adult CPR, basic and advanced airways (manual, oral/nasal, LMA, Laryngeal Tube, intubation), manual defibrillation, drug administration, ECG interpretation (in the arrest environment). Skill and theoretical competency in all areas are required for certification.

• This course also meets the RACGP ALS/CPR requirement
• RACP: This course may qualify towards your MOPS requirements.
This course qualifies under the “Strengthening Medicare” GP Procedural Upskilling Support program for up to $2000/day reimbursement (Category 1&2)
Level 4B:
Moving away from the area of direct clinical practice, this level focuses on coordination and management of department resources for arrest planning. Emphasis is placed on planning, education, program/performance evaluation, and program management. This is primarily a theoretical class and should only be taken by parties needing to develop, manage, and evaluate arrest response systems.
Skills: Skills are in the form of open discussions and group scenarios. No clinical skills are covered in this level.

Level 4C:
This is a Train-the-Trainer program designed for parties wishing to teach Level 1 classes. This is an intensive program geared towards clinical instructors and educators. Completion of this level automatically provides Level 1A-C certification, but only for 1 year.
Skills: All skills contained in Level 1A-C, presentation techniques, room setup, and equipment purchasing information. Participants will be required to attend multiple days, and instruct a minimum of 5 classes under a senior instructor’s supervision.
